Since you are already working in IT, you must be quite competent with computers and maybe CAD. In fashion Design CAD is a modern technology useful at the industrial level for manufacturing and is useful in some areas of fashion development. For example you can present your work professionally with the help of CAD, generate colour and form alternatives, archive and record the design collections.
To be a creative and original designer you will have to undertake training to think in an innovative way and learn methodologies that will help you in this process. Besides you will also have to learn about material eg fabrics used in fashion and techniques and technology to translate your design sketch into a real garment. Hence to learn a lot in short time is difficult, since you are also occupied with your job which is quite different in nature to that of design.
I suggest you start learning these skills one at a time by attending short modules or evening programmes, where over a period of time you will collect your competencies and then spend a period of internship in the industry to learn the reality of how the fashion industry operates.

Admission Procedure
UNDER GRADUATE
Out of total seats of 390 available in this institute, 50% (195 seats) are reserved for candidates qualifying from the state in which the institute is located and rest 50% (195 seats) are reserved for the other candidates based on the population of the respective state, which is decided by MHRD, Govt. of India.For 195 seats allotted to the students of other states, the respective National Institute of Technology of the state nominate the students for the admission at this institute on the basis of the combine entrance examinations conducted by AIEEE. The reservation policy of the Central Govt. was followed in nominating the students from S.C /S.T. categories.Few seats (decided by Ministry of Foreign affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi) are reserved for the students of foreign nations, which are nominated by ICCR, New Delhi.

And also civil Engineers are in shortage in supply as compared to demand And also construction sector has max money than any of the field. but one of the problem in civil branch is that it requires very much hard work and hectic timing schedules you have to work 24 * 7 . Where as CS in Also good if you want to make your career in IT Industry But in CS branch you have to face very huge competition.
