Food Technology is a Science which deals with the techniques and principles involved in processing and preserving the food substances. The study of food technology is to develop new methods and systems for keeping food products safe and resistant from natural harms such as bacteria and other micro-organisms. Food Technology involves a blend of physical, chemical or microbiological processes and techniques for transforming raw ingredients into food and also other forms in food processing industry. Food processing refers to converting the raw ingredients into edible components or transforming food into other edible forms. About B.E. Food Technology
The four year Under-Graduate programme B.E. In Food Technology programme, Best Food Technology engineering programme in Punjab, is a comprehensive programme with an objective to offer in-depth study of various areas related to Food Science and Technology so as to enable the students to understand food composition its nutritional, microbiological and sensory aspects. This programme also trains the students in the processing and preservation techniques of food items. They are also taught about the importance of safety, quality, plant sanitation of food, food laws and regulations, and packaging in food industry. The programme enables the students to undergo and possess entrepreneurial and industry knowledge which includes the latest technology used in the food processing industry. Eligibility & Fee Details
Eligibility - 10+2 with Physics as compulsory subjects along with any two of the following subjects:- Chemistry/ Biotechnology/ Computer Science / Biology / Mathematics with at least 60% marks in the aggregate. Semester Fee80000/- INR
