It depends from college to college. Some accept 45% in 12th and some 50%. So check with the college in which your brother is interested.

For being a pilot you need Min 50% in 12th with Maths and Physics. After that you can apply for commercial pilot licence from DGCA.
For Indian Air force you need min 70 % in 12th.

There is no mechanical device which is in use without the application of electrical energy, in some or other form. Directly or indirectly all the branches are inter-linked. Diploma –Class 10th pass from a recognised board with minimum 40% marks.
Bachelor's Degree: Class 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks.
Post-graduation degree: Bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 45% marks.
Graduate & PG programs may also require you to appear in entrance exams such as NCHMCT,AIMA UGAT, E-CHAT etc.
