Well I am not from the CSE department but I think I ll be able to answer this question. First of all, IIT Hyderabad, Indore and Ropar are the top IIT. Among the IIT. Established in 2008. Also, as per the NIRF rankings of 2016 and 2017, IIT Ropar has been ranked as the 3rd best IIT of 2008. Also, these 2008 IIT. Have almost completed a decade and it will be unfair to call them a new IIT. They have established themselves in the past 9 years and are still growing at a very fast rate. Almost all of them (including IIT Ropar) have started shifting to their permanent campus. As far as the facilities are concerned, IIT Ropar is sufficiently equipped with all the necessary facilities and laboratories that are required. One of the answer mentions that IIT Ropar is very young compared to NSIT. IIT Ropar has risen to a great extent in these 9 years but some people are not ready to accept that fact. They have made a general perception regarding 2008 IIT. That they are not that much good as compared to the old IIT. Of 2008, were no doubt struggling to establish themselves 4 5 years back but now, they are very much established. Also, their rate of growth is much higher since the government is investing a lot of money for their development. IIT Ropar will no doubt be a better option than NSIT. IIT Ropar is only 9 years old and yet it people prefer IIT Ropar above NSIT which is much older than IIT Ropar. These are some reasons for that the CSE department of IIT Ropar has recorded a placement of more than 90 percent since the last 4 years with an average package of around 16 17 LPA. The overall average package (considering all the departments) offered at IIT Ropar was 12.5 LPA in 201516 and 11.5 LPA in 201617 which is much higher than the average package of NSIT (around 77.5 LPA). Some offers in NSIT were in crores but that doesn't make its placement better than that of IIT Ropar. Research-
