To be become IAS you need to sit for UPSC examination which is conducted every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS, IPS, IFS officers are recruited.
To be eligible :
1)You should have a degree of graduation in any field from any recognized university.
2)Your age must be between 21 to 30 years. 3 and 5 years of relaxation for OBC and SC/ST respectively.
3)You must be an Indian citizen.
The exam is conducted every year in the month of May and June and its main exam is in the month of December.
The notification for the exam comes out in the month of January end.

Hi Jyotika Mahajan. The major intakes in Australian universities are February or July. Some universities also offer November intake. The university that you are looking out to pursue your education does not offer November intake. *****To share, preparing for IAS requires combination of smartness and hard work. Do the right things to gain an edge over your competition:
*Get the right books for Prelims
*Start preparing at least 10 months before
*Solve past year questions to test yourself on regular basis
*Cover the scoring sections early
*Cover the syllabus strategically. Don't go for a "prepare all" approach for IAS prelims
*Balance paper 1 and 2
I would suggest you to spend quality time everyday by reading journals, magazines, newspapers, etc.

** Post and Telegraph Department.
** Co-ordination Department, National Physical Laboratory, Bharat Electronics Limited, Development Centers in various States etc. dealing in manufacture, sales and services of electronics consumer goods and appliances.

** Research and Teaching field in one of the many engineering colleges in India or abroad.
Ankita, you must remember that pursuing a stream should be based on two things :
1) Your career goal.
2) The type of job you want to do.
