To be become IAS you need to sit for UPSC examination which is conducted every year and on the basis of this examination a number of IAS, IPS, IFS officers are recruited.
To be eligible :
1)You should have a degree of graduation in any field from any recognized university.
2)Your age must be between 21 to 30 years. 3 and 5 years of relaxation for OBC and SC/ST respectively.
3)You must be an Indian citizen.
The exam is conducted every year in the month of May and June and its main exam is in the month of December.
The notification for the exam comes out in the month of January end.

a) you are citizen of India.
b) you have passed plus two or its equivalent examination from a recognized board with at least 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology taken together (40% for SC/ST candidates) and at least 30% marks in English (for all categories).
