PGDM is a sector specific management degree with employment opportunities in IT and ITES industries. Generic MBA and PGDM grads also opt for these industries. Grads are only employed in the role of PreSales support, Sakes & Marketing, Account Management and Business Analyst. I will like to always recommend generic PGDM over sector specific degree to enhance employability.

Hi,
Finance is a better option if you belong to commerce background and/or have a keen interest in making a career in the finance/banking sector. Else marketing would be ideal. Finance requires one to be well-versed with the accounting, banking related concepts as well as having great mathematical skills. Marketing needs one to be creative and practical, having a sound understanding of what's trending in the market/industry.

Based on B.Com, I am of the opinion that IT MBA IT will be an ideal higher qualification for you. If you can do some courses to gain BFSI domain knowledge and get IIBA certification to become a qualified BA, any IT company will hire you. With MBA IT you will be qualified for pre-sales support, Sales & Marketing and Account Management roles in IT and ITES companies.

Hello Amey,
Admissions to VJTI are based in MH-CET and not on JEE Mains, as some people are thinking. Earlier once when MH CET was not conducted in that marks of JEE Mains and 12th marks were added in some ratio to form a merit list for admissions. However, since MH CET is going to be conducted this year, JEE Mains has no relevance.
