If you mean commercial pilot then please remember in order to become a commercial pilot your vision in one eye must be perfect. In general medical terminology, it is called 6/6 eyesight.
In the other eye, you could have an imperfection of 6/9, which must be correctable to 6/6.
General physical fitness is mandatory. You must be free of any disease that can hamper normal function.
Please note that in order to become a commercial pilot you must have completed your Class XII under the 10+2 system or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in Mathematics and Physics.
Training in commercial flying can be taken with Flying clubs, the Rashtriya Udan Academy, Private Flying academies.
The training goes through 3 stages of licence.
The licences have to be procured in the following order:
1. Student Pilot Licence (SPL)
2. Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
3. Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL)
- After Class XI/XII (with PCM) students can apply for the SPL.
- On passing Class XII(PCM) they may enroll for the next licence -PPL.
- On getting the PPL training begins for CPL.
Eligibility:
Age of 16 years minimum and pass in Class X. A medical certificate of fitness, security clearance and a bank guarantee is required.
Selection:
Candidates taking the SPL test have to appear in an oral examination on a fixed day every month. Candidates have to enroll a month before the examination. Selected candidates go through a medical test and the Pilot Aptitude Test.
