Unfortunately maths is important for everything, you are an interior designer, that means almost an architect. you need to know interior measurements. or you will screw the space etc.
You need dimensions of a room and the size of windows and the whole floor plan thing. how wide the door frames are
It's not like you don't know simple maths. but if you want to become a certified interior designer you need to take diploma or degree.
Hope my answer is clear and as well as helpful, if any doubts feel free in asking!!!
All the best
