You need to keep track of the vaccancies advertised by PSU's. For this one of the sources is the weekly "Employment Newspaper". You need to read it regularly and then depending upon the vaccancy evaluate if you are qualified for that. PSU's prefer people with higher qualification. If you are only an engineering Graduate then I suggest you do post graduation in your field and then also do MBA (distance education) through a UGC approved institution. M.E (or M.Tech) would be better for PSU jobs.

Vibhor, since you are in 1st year itself as of now so it is better to keep your focus on this B.Tech course for the remaining 3 years. Once you come in the final year then depending upon the industrial & business scenario at that time and also your own interests ( which might change in the next couple of years), take fresh decisions. If at that time you are intrested in the education line or Research field then go for M.Tech. If you want to work in the corporate sector then go for MBA preferably through regular mode of education. If at that time you immediately get a good job in a reputed concern then join it immediately and after 3 y

You have not specified that for which exam you would start preparing from Jan onwards. Is it for UPSC? In that case I suggest you begin immediately and contact a good coaching centre near your place or get study material from a coaching institute from Delhi as time left is quite less.
