Sorry for saying this, there is no chance for you to get a seat in SASTRA in stream 2 based on your rank. Last year, students who got even 984 marks didn't get the seat. Try for other universities.

It is possible to opt for genetic engineering or biotechnology courses without having Maths in class 12th. You should have Physics, Chemistry and Biology with decent marks to get enrolled for undergraduate course in biotechnology. Genetic engineering doesn't involve a lot of Math in it. However, when you pursue engineering, there will be some common subjects, where you have to deal with math too. But, the core subjects will be related to biology and chemistry. If your question is about getting into the field itself, then I don't think that not having a Math background will be a problem at any point.

Yeah, with 89% in 12th, you can get a good scholarship at LPU. From what I've seen, they give merit-based scholarships based on board marks, and your score falls in a solid bracket, so you can get a decent fee reduction. You can also improve it further if you give LPUNEST or have a valid entrance score.

Compared to many colleges where scholarships are limited, LPU offers multiple slabs and chances to increase it. So overall, your fees can come down quite a bit if you plan it smartly.
