UNM has very small section of Indian
community. Every year 30-40 students attend UNM from India in all
disciplines and almost 99% of Indian students get some sort of
funding. ECE and Computer science have very good course structure with
good research faculty. This city is better compared to other cities in
US in terms of any Racial/drug related casualities. Places around
University where Indian student community live is safe and very close
to the campus. We can rate it 3/5.

he cost of living is like in any
other metro in south west United States and can be comparable with
Phoenix, AZ in this aspect. A student earning close to $1000 a month
can comfortably live in a decent apartment with 2-3 Roommates and can
afford 3 meals a day without any problem. He/She can afford a decent
dinner in restaurants once or twice a week. To afford a car he/she
need to make around $1500 a month.

Yes, jobs are there but quite limited because most people go for MBA and when the comparison occures in the HR deptt of any company then generally the MBA candidate is given preference, unless the BBA candidate posses some exceptional other skills. So my advice to you is to enhance your soft skills and get yourself trained in some aspect.
