Hi,
PGDM is Post Graduate Diploma in Management, it is a two year full time program and it is equivalent to MBA.
Please remember MBA degree is offered by universities, whereas PGDM is offered by AICTE approved institutes.
Please note that, the final selection in full time MBA or PGDM program is made on the basis of:
1. Education background of the students. i.e. 50% marks in graduation.
2. Score in various management entrance tests like CAT, MAT, XAT, etc
3. Performance in group discussions and personal interview.
4. Work experience if any.
5. Other activities like participating in various event like debates, quiz, extra curricular activities, etc.
Yes you may surely pursue full time MBA or PGDM program after completing BMS as it will further enhance your career prospects.
However it is always advisable to work for 2-3 years after completing graduation and then opting for a full time MBA or PGDM program, the advantage of this step would be that after working for few years you would know which specialization to opt in MBA that can further enhance your career prospects.
Finally if you work for some years then you may yourself manage the expenses for your further studies.
