An aircraft maintenance engineer has to obtain a licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). AME hence cannot be considered as a degree course.
An aircraft maintenance engineer is responsible for the control, maintenance and repair of specialised aircraft instrumentation and related parts of the aircraft. They also learn to set engine controls and to test for their correct functioning. They play a major role among the maintenance personnel to keep the aircraft 'airworthy' at all times. The maintenance of modern sophisticated aircrafts calls for high degree of technical knowledge, competence, proficiency, dexterity and integrity on part of the concerned personnel. Aircraft engineers research, design, manufacture and maintain aircraft. They work on any and every mechanical aspect of the craft, including airframes, hydraulics and pneumatics, engines and fuel systems and control and communications systems. Air craft engineers are involved in stages of aircraft production and manufacture such as design of new products such as components or entire engines; the manufacture and assembly of aircraft parts; research into solutions for complex engineering problems; maintenance of the finished craft to ensure safety and operational status. A course in aircraft maintenance engineering is not a degree but a licence course and only those institutes approved by the DGCA can impart training in this area. After completing the course and passing the internal exam, you will have to clear the licensing exam conducted by the DGCA.

Namita, I am not sure which courses are you asking about. Also, I am not sure how good you are with maths and programming. If you are, then you must pick up a language whether PHP/ HTML5 (web dev), .Net (for software dev) Java/ Android (for apps) or C#/ Unity (for games). However like i mentioned, you must be good with programming to move ahead in this area since you have to compete with MCAs and BTech(CS) applicants. So choose your internship/ industrial training very carefully. Do not just go for the cheapest to save money. See the IT company's credentials on the net. for example if someone provide LIVE PROJECTS are they there near the TOP on PORTALS like JUSTDIAL? Or if the company is registered with STPI (Software Technology Parks of India) - all good IT companies are lregistered with STPI. If a company spends money to market themselves to customers, only then they are able to get LIVE PROJECTS. Also, if you are an average programmer, and if you you're better with creative work, then you can head for web design or even vfx/ animation since there is a huge requirement coming up in that domain.
