Hello Modhi,
The future placements cannot be predicted but the placements will surely improve every year as we could see the development now.
Sastra University is having good placements for CSE, IT, etc. as many companies related to IT comes a lot. For core subjects like mechanical, ECE, EEE, etc., the placements are not equal to CS but you can get some core companies.
You need to be very talented and skilled to get placed in such core companies as they won't recruit in huge numbers like IT companies.

Eligibility for B.Tech after Diploma:
Students who have completed the first year of B.Tech from a recognized university or passed three years diploma after 10+2 with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in science and Maths field.
Those who are appearing for the final year diploma examination are also eligible to apply for direct second year engineering admission, subject to the condition that they shall produce the provisional certificate at the time of admission.
