If you opt for new technology, you will be starting from base level and hence your pay levels may drop. Also, you would be required to learn everything from scratch. So, I would suggest you to go for higher studies like MBA in relevant field whereby your problem of technology outdation will be resolved and your pay levels may either increase or atleasst remain at the same level.

NIFT Chandigarth is very reputed and useful for students who want to make a career in this filed. You need to give exam for it. So be on the look out for the advertisement for this exam after Nov 2012. The exam would be held somewhere between March to may 2013. The fees get changed every year, so it will be known only later for the courses beggining next year. But yes it is less than Rs 1 lakh per year at NIFT.
