It's late for government jobs. But you can do professional courses also. If you want to go into the teaching field, you can do some Diploma in teaching and teach at the primary level also or you can do short-term medical related Diploma courses. These can get you a good job.

Today in India, you need an MBBS degree to do any Medical studies. However, the 150000 seats are largely unfulfilled due to the outdated content of MBBS course that does not use the latest technologies for diagnosis. Many government hospitals do not even have or use Radiology for diagnosis, making MBBS doctors largely guess the illness from old medical literature and concepts. An updated medical education is needed that introduces and encourages evidence based practice using Data for patient benefit. I hope they do that, so that Biomedical Engineers and Radiologists are used for patient diagnosis, treatment and structured surgeries.

No, one cannot become a surgeon without MBBS.

Becoming a surgeon typically requires completing a medical degree, which is commonly an MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) or an equivalent degree recognised in the respective country. The MBBS degree is the foundation of medical education and provides the necessary knowledge and training to pursue a career in various medical fields, including surgery.
