The admission to all engineering colleges for year 2012 are over. To get admission either in private or government engineering colleges, you will have to appear in the respective state pre-engineering Test (PET), for all NITs admission is through AIEEE and for IITs through IIT-JEE. Although, from next year onward AIEEE and IIT-JEE will be combined as common entrance test. All these exams are conducted in Apr to may month of each year and forms are available from December onward. These forms are available in Public sector banks nominated by respective state directorate of technical education.
Higher the obtained marks in these entrance exams, better college and choice branch can be secured by the candidates.
Many private colleges also offer direct admission based on 12th result but obviously these colleges are not the better colleges and they offer because seats through PET have not been filled.
