First of all, there is not much difference in PGDM and MBA. Both are equivalent and are given same importance in industry. I have explained below what is the difference.
1. The main reason why postgraduate courses are named as PGDM is that when an Institute is an autonomous body (not affiliated to any University) and conducts management courses, then such Institutes cannot offer MBA degree. Even IIMs, XLRI's doesn't offer MBA degrees; they only give PGP Diploma.

Admissions to the first year of engineering and pharmacy colleges will be based on the State Common Entrance Test MHCET and not the joint entrance exam JEE, the directorate of technical education (DTE) Maharashtra said that the entrance examination of MHTCET 2018 will be conducted for admissions into around 200 engineering institutes. MHTCET 2018 participating institutes will be located in six regions of Maharashtra: Amravati, Aurangabad, Mumbai, Nagpur, Nashik and Pune. The allotment of the eligible candidates to the participating institutes of MHTCET 2018 will be done during the seat allotment process. The selection of the preferred institute has to be done during the counselling session of MHTCET.
