It would be quite difficult to pursue both the bachelor courses along sides. You can enroll to the BBM through the regular mode and along side can take up courses in Animation. There are many private institutes offering various courses from diploma to degrees (affiliated to open universities). You can refer to the following link:

As already mentioned by you, your son is appearing for GATE, which is one of the premier entrances for the M.tech courses. Other than this there are many other entrances like TAN CET/ State or institute specifics too.
