Cut-off is different depending on whether the student has a CAT/MAT/ATMA/CET/XAT or some other score or whether the student has taken the IMAT (i.e. IIFMs own aptitude test). Also, what are the GD/PI scores for GD/PI conducted at IIFM. Major emphasis is placed on what the panel interview results show - since at IIFM the PI is taken by senior corporate execs on behalf of IIFM

Hi Lakshman,
As you are already pursuing your MA in Mass Comm and Journalism which clearly indicates that you are in the right path to become a journalist.
To start a career in journalism, I would suggest you to first go for an internship in a good news agency so that you gain the relevant experience and after that you can apply to several good Tamil newspapers and Tamil media houses.
Hope this helps.
