The exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in order to fulfil the requirements of various central government departments like Railways, Central Public Works Department (CPWD), Water Commission, Power Sector, Ordnance, Defence Sector , Border Roads and so on. The task of those selected for IES is to manage a large segment of Public sector economy which comprises of Railroads, Public works, Power, Telecommunications etc.

The fee structure for the year 2014-16 is as follows:
PGDM - Rs 2, 60,000 per year
PGDM (Pharma and Bio tech)-Rs 2, 15,000 per year
Fees are payable annually.
The institute has tie-up with SBI & IDBI banks and assistance is provided for
getting bank loans. However, usual terms & conditions of the banks would apply.

In order to pursue MS degree from Germany you need to have relevant undergraduate degree from recognized university with good academic record preferably 70%-80% plus in graduation plus you need to take below mentioned tests:
1. GRE.
2. TOEFL or IELTS.
For admission in masters degree in German universities you need to have GRE score of 300-320 plus and IELTS score of 7 with no individual band below 6.5 or TOEFL score of 90 with no band less than 20.
The eligibility criteria for admission may vary from university to university.
However please note that since Germany is a non English speaking country, and their national language is German,
