Generally, students who fail to score great in selection test are given direct entry with higher sponsorship charges. Non-Sponsored (NS): It is a high merit category where a student competes and clear the criteria set up by the selection board. TFW rank means rank under Tuition fees waiver scheme. It shows your rank among those students whose family income is less than 2 lacs (around ). At the time of counselling and only your GMR matters. If your general merit rank is good and you are a TFW student, you can get admission under TFW quota, and you have to pay less fee.

CSE always sounds good since it has Computer Science in it. But IT, on the other hand, is like Twin smaller sister of CSE. The foundation of both the streams are same and hence None is better than anything. Although if you have a choice like which should I choose, they always go for a better college since maybe after your college you want to get into a better company for placement. Again if placements matter to you or the reputation of the college matters to you, then choose the better college. Else both the things are same. This is quite an old institute in the field of education, almost since independence. Its course is not B.Tech but would be three years course with perhaps B.Sc in AME.

If we talk about the degree course from a regular college it is always a good way of learning because it have an exposure to the new learning outcomes and also it makes a student to connect to the different peers with which they share their ideas and it gives a holistic approach of learning. Regular mode of education teachers you the value of life and it also help one to build their personality. If we consider the correspondence mode of education it is a solo based learning process. GATE is required for higher studies like Masters in engineering (M.Tech). For B.Tech in NITs or IIITs, you must get a good rank in JEE Mains and Advanced or you require JEE Mains and Advanced for B.Tech in NITs and IIITs.
