For short term courses in core field, below is the list :
-Power systems
-Latest applications of Solar panels
-Embedded systems
-VLSI
-You can also opt for Mechanical branches such as Robotics and Humanoids and other mechanical applications.
For short term courses in software field you can learn programming languages.

I would suggest you to go for pict as it has good placement record, its cse faculty best you don't have join any extra coaching classes, its campus is also good, location wise also it is good( located in katraj just half an hour from pune station and 15 minutes from swargate bus stop).but on top of all pics has good placement(good packege) prestigious compnies visits pict.in term of cse pict ranks just behind coe pune.so go for pict.best of luck for your future
