The life insurance industry is still in a nascent stage in India. LIC was the monopoly player till IRDA, the regulatory body, allowed private life insurance companies to enter the life insurance business, in the year 2001. If you take the life insurance industry, there are three critical divisions, on which the whole company depends for survival. The divisions are, Actuary, Underwriting and Fund Deployment. The actuarial department comes out or designs an insurance policy using various statistical techniques. It is a very specialized and complex function and require excellent working knowledge of Statistics. Underwriting decides on whether to accept or reject a policy, based on various parameters. Fund Deployment is done by the fund manager. Each of these functions requires specific qualifications and skill sets. A distance mode of education will in no way help you enter the insurance industry and make a career

For being eligible to apply for MCA, you have to have mathematics as one of the subjects at 10+2 level or statistics as one of the subjects at graduation level. If you fulfill these criteria you are eligible for MCA.
As far as other information regarding MCA is concerned, we would like to state that most of the entrance tests are conducted in April or May. Notifications are out in January or February. The combined MCA entrance tests held in India are: NIMCET for NITs, CET Maharashtra for Maharashtra colleges, UPMCAT for most colleges in UP, Andhra Pradesh CET for Colleges in AP,Orissa State MCA Test for all Colleges in Orissa, MET for All college under Punjabi Univ. GNDU, & PTU in Punjab, MP-Pre MCA Test for all colleges in MP, Kerala MCA Test for all colleges in Kerala.
The most reputed universities and colleges offering MCA degree in India are: Delhi University, Pune University, Jawahar Lal Nehru university, New Delhi, IIT Roorkee, NIT Trichy, VJTI, Mumbai, Banaras Hindu University, MNNIT Allahabad, ICSE Indore, Thapar University. Other colleges offering MCA are NITs, Vellore Institute, PSG Coimbatore, Hyderabad Central University, BITS Mesra, Jalgaon University, and Punjab University etc.

Prayag, If you are very good with maths and programming, opt for Computers (BTech or BCA). If you are good with Drawing and Creative opt for Design (Animation, VFX, Games, Fashion). If you are good with words become a writer (content, news, fiction, ads) or director. If you are good with keeping records go for Accounts or Stats or administration. If you are good with logic go for Law. If you are good at memorizing and love nature go for medical. If you are good with people go for Management.
