Hi,
The eligibility criteria for Ph.D varies for every institute. However the basic requirement is a masters degree or an equivalent degree in the relevant discipline.
However the cut off percentages vary. Some of the institutes conduct entrance exams and some of them require atleast two Research Publications for the Ph.D programs.

I think, both are benificial depending upon your interests. Arts field covers social subjects which can help you to learn the historical background and other social aspects of any perticular law which can make a good socialist lawyer. Yes definitely. 1st reason is the eligibility and S.M.U is a recognized university being the second reason.
Eligibility-
Candidates who seek to become chartered accountants are required to be citizens of India. Those who are applying for the Competency Professional Test (CPT) course must have cleared their class 10. But in order to write this exam, the candidates must have finished class 10+2. There is no age limit for applying for this course.

1. Eligibility conditions to pursue B.ED are:
