The CMA qualification in the US is naturally more well recognized than the former. However, the scope in India is more inclined towards CIMA.
It does depend on the organization one works for. If you are working for a US subsidiary of a UK MNC, I reckon they would not be too particular about whether it is CMA or CIMA.
However, CMA US has recently streamlined its examination process and it is well worth considering.
