Regarding preparation of CAT test I would suggest you to first start with self-preparation and stick to it for few weeks and revise your class 10 and 12th maths (CBSE/ICSE if possible) to strengthen your basics.
After few weeks of self study you may then consider joining some good coaching institute which offers quality coaching for CAT and various other management entrance tests.
The number of hours that you are required to put in depends on your individual aptitude however I would suggest you for self study of minimum of 3-4 hours daily apart from coaching.
Regularly give mock test, based on your performance in mock tests you may know in area you are strong and in which areas you need more hard work.
After spending considerable time in preparation it would also be advisable for you to set a clear cut target about your aspirations, whether you are planning to take admission only in top 10 colleges or top 20 colleges or top 30 colleges. The target must be realistic based on your self-analysis your preparation and your confidence in yourself.
As you are currently pursuing BBA, so you may join coaching institute from the beginning of the third year.
