Placements are good. For the outgoing batch there are still opportunities coming up even after the academic year has been done officially. Highest package last year has been above 10 lpa. Average is around 5 to 5.5 lpa. least package is usually 4lpa, but sometimes depending on the conditions it would be 3.5 lpa.

You can prepare for CAT either by attending coaching classes or by doing self study. It all depends on you. When you attend coaching classes, you will get study material and you can get your queries answered and apart from that you can prepare as per schedule set by them and give mock tests. Doing M.Tech would be preferable incase you want a career in the technical field only or say Research oriented job or in Education line. MBA would be better if you straight away want to enter in the corporate houses with a job more focued on management.

CMAT score is considered for All India quota and there is no reservations in that quota. Other exams percentile scores also considered for that quota. Last year cutoff was 99.09 percentile. Looking this scenario it seems difficult to get admission in pumba.

It is always good if there is higher qualification. As you have the concept, it saves much time for you. Once again you make a hectic preparation for IAS and cover all the aspects with a reasonable perfection. At that time, your reading will be wider also. You then try to increase your awareness to the maximum.
