Being a Dairy Technologist (B.Tech- NDRI, Karnal) myself, I can clearly tell you that it has a very good scope, even better than any other engineering. This industry will never run out of jobs and opportunities, plus you always have an option to go for higher studies if you are not interested in a job after B.Tech. MBA in IT requires the following:
1. Bachelor's degree
2. Work experience of 2-3 years
3. GMAT scores
4. TOEFL or IELTS scores.
While these are the primary requirements for an MBA programs. The colleges look for high calibre all-rounders, someone who can contribute to the class. MBA essays demonstrating the career goals and strong LORs are important.

One must have 75% in 12th, to be eligible for admission in NIT's besides other criteria. Of course, you will have to appear for JEE Mains and clear it with good marks.

I can tell you about MAIT, as I belong to this college. Majority of students are involved in coding here. Coding culture is steadily growing and societies are being founded. Attendance is not an issue here, so you can do other stuff to give a boost to your career. Faculty is extremely supportive here.
