You can calculate your first year, 2nd year and 3rd year marks by the following. First year marks = Marks obtained in (Sem-1+Sem-2)/2 =A
2nd year marks = Marks obtained in (Sem-3+Sem-4)/2 =B
3rd year marks = Marks obtained in (Sem-5+Sem-6)/2 =C
Total aggregate marks= A+B+C/3
Total aggregate %= Total aggregate marksx100/Total marks.

For a Career in Information Technology as well as in Computer Engineering, one needs to possess a DEGREE/Graduation for sure. This is important to note that IT through B.Tech. Is more preferred as it comes with acknowledged Specialisation. It is also noteworthy that a B.Tech in Computer Science or Engineering is always the best among the two. A B.Sc. IT can be made a good option when you want to spend LESS TIME, I. e. THREE YEARS and want less of specialisations. B.Sc. Also leads to M.Sc. And saves a year to reach the post graduation. For a Career in IT Do B.Sc. , but not without GOOD SKILLS and EXPERTISE. Otherwise, B.Tech is good.

Let him do some research to find what he's interested in. Guide him if he seeks your help. Don't let him make any decisions based on peer pressure or to get away from hard work. No stream is "easy" in that way. To be successful, dedication and perspiration are essential. Make him understand that.

Although it's been a trend to select stream based on the score, it definitely isn't the appropriate way to do so. Ask him to do his own research, to find out what his interests are. Also, let him have a look through the curriculum of each branch. You may need to guide him based on your experiences, but let him choose.

Hi
Both Mechatronics and Biotechnology are niche branches. But unfortunately, in India, we have less scope and opportunities. Unless you do these courses in very reputed institutes, you will not be placed in reputed companies. For mechatronics, opportunities are open in Army, Navy, Electronics, Automobile, Gas manufacturing and ISRO. This is a very niche branch and has a lot of career and education opportunities abroad. Biotechnology is more research oriented here also you need to go for post graduation in well reputed institutes to enhance and do the real job in the biotechnology field. Otherwise, we end up in doing a clerk jobs in ser

Yes, you can get admission in The ICFAI University, Dehradun if you have scored 86 marks in CLAT. It is worth taking admission but if we talk about the hostel facility, especially for boys. The hostel is available for boys but it is not upto the mark. As per the previous students who reside in the hostel are not satisfied but it is not that one should not choose it, one can go for it.

It's all on your interests. According to your marks, you can easily pursue B.Tech in IPU. But, if you have full faith that you can crack the next year IIT entrance exams, then only go for one year drop. Otherwise, if you have doubt then do not take a risk of one year. My suggestion is don't go for one year drop, pursue B.Tech in USIT, and then score good in college. All the very best.

IIT tag is surely worth a year but only if you are willing to sacrifice most of the things. Hard work always pays. But on the other hand, if you feel that NIT is worth it, then you should give it a try.
