You can contact college. They will have criteria within how many years you need to clear degree. If your gap is less than that then you can continue. If gap exceeds maximum years to complete then you got to start afresh.

General Eligibility for Ph.D. Chemistry admission is 60% aggregate score in M.Sc. Chemistry
