Hi Vijay.
You need to take in 11th and 12th Maths.Physics,Chemistry and Computer Science. In these subjects you must get 190/200 in 12th Board exams and get above 90% in the entrance exam for Engg. If you get good marks in both you can secure an admission B.E or B.Tech (Computer Science or Information Technology). This is the process you become a software engineer.

The entrance test for MS in VLSI Engineering in VEDA IIT is usually conducted in the month of May. This year the test was conducted on May 28th.
If you are still interested in joining VEDA IIT under 'Engineer Trainees Recruitment Program', you can apply for the short term Diploma Programs in Logic Design, Physical Design, Analog Desing, Layout Design and Embedded System Design.

There is no percentage barier, only a formal personal interview

Without giving entrance examination you can not join any IIT. For the admission to the IIT first of all you have to appear for entrance examination i.e. IITJEE, if you are successful than only you can join.
