CAT exam is tough as there are limited seats in IIMS, and there are only few good IIMS like IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, IIM Bangalore, IIM Indore, etc. Nearly 2 Lacs candidates apply for CAT exam but seriously 50 K students prepare seriously for it. Paper is not tough if you practice problems and do hard work. Focus on English, logical reasoning, etc. Follow study materials and faculty. Don't skip classes as classes are very important. Simple thing is that many people are fighting for limited seats and you have to defeat everyone for getting those seats.

Hello,
Direct admission is very tough in this course as Majority of the colleges and institutes take either entrance or select students on class 12th marks cut off. Yes there are few places like Amity University, Galgotias University and other big private University and colleges but they will ask good amount of money for that mind you.
All the best.
