1) Popularity: Granted the MiM is a relatively new degree, BUT it has been pretty popular in European circles for the past 20 years. Many colleges offer it as their flagship degrees and it is very very popular in Europe with many US colleges such as Duke Fuqua, Kellog, Cornell & MIT also offering it, so yes MiM is coming up strong.
2) Course Material: The course material has hardly any difference. You study almost the same subjects, yes of course most of these subjects have a more European focus.
Now which one is better,well that is a very debatable question. It totally depends on what you want, what your short term and long term goals are? Are you ready to slog it out and get enough work ex for a MBA or you want to move fast and fill the gap with a MiM.
The MBA is ofcourse more recognized and is a much better option for people with work ex, so if you want a safe option go for it.
MiM is still upcoming and is not that recognized in the east, but it has huge opportunities too & is apt for people who want to move ahead fast.

This programme aims at equipping the graduates with advanced conceptual knowledge, technical skills and ability to pursue research in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. Learners are matured in a specific area of specialisation by extending their prior knowledge through meticulous set of advanced courses with a dissertation to showcase their research potential. The eligibility is Pass with 90% aggregate marks in B.Tech. (Computer Science and Engineering or Information Technology or Electronics and Communication Engineering or Electrical and Electronics Engineering) or MCA or M.Sc. (Information Technology or Computer Science) or equivalent

Bachelor of Pharmacy eligibility:
Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy requires a candidate to have cleared 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Biology as subjects. One must also pass with at least 50% marks in Pre University Course with biology/mathematics as one of the subjects, or complete a D.Pharma. (Diploma in Pharmacy).
There is an option of pursuing Direct Second Year Bachelor of Pharmacy (Lateral Entry) if one has: Should have aggregate of 50% marks in the First and Second year D. Pharmacy Examination with a pass in HSC or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) or Mathematics. Or
Minimum qualifying marks in 10+2 examination as per Regulation (1a) above with pass in two year D. Pharmacy course.
The criteria of minimum percentage of marks may differ from institute to institute. In some states it is also mandatory to give an additional pharmacy entrance examination in order to be eligible for the course.
