Diploma cannot be considered to be equal to graduation, but after a diploma you have opportunity for lateral entry admissions to a BTech Programme. You must clear state level lateral entry admission tests with a good score. After the completion of B tech you will be an engineering graduate.

Candidates should have pursued at least a three-year Bachelor’s Degree programme after twelve years of formal schooling, having securedminimum 45% aggregate marks or equivalent.
The candidates should have at least five years of experience as an executive or an administrator in a commercial/government establishment/registered organization after passing the Bachelor’s degree examination. Experience shall be determined as on 1st April of the year of admission. Candidates should be either sponsored or they must produce a “No Objection Certificate” programme from his/her present employer.

The eligibility criteria varies from college to college. The basic criteria for pursuing M.A Economics is having a graduation degree in any stream.
However, many of the reputed universities demand graduation degree with Honors in Economics or Economics as one of the subjects studied in graduation from any of the recognized college/university.
Some even ask for a minimum of 45-50% marks in graduation as qualifying criteria to secure admission in this course and some also conduct an entrance examination.
