Sakshi ji, Since your daughter is still in 12th so i would like you to look at all kinds of careers that design offers. Design is a field that is age old and has been evolving every year like science. Sometimes student Artists are too much enamoured by Fine Arts preventing them to look objectively at Design. For e.g. science students do better if they go for CS or IT since that are areas where development is taking place rapidly. Similarly in Design the cutting edge areas are UID/ UXD, 3D Printing, Immersive Technology, Augmented Reality, 3D Projection etc, besides of course Game Design and Animation. At this stage, you may want to understand the creative world and the careers it offers. There are many careers for the creative/ artistic people. Interiors, textile as well as Web Design rely on the same skills - your layout skills and color sense. Journalism also is at this level and relies on your language skills and knowledge of history and current affairs. A little higher perches Graphic Design, Fashion Design, jewellery design, Acting, and Fine Arts which rely on one of your artistic skills - sketching and imagination. At a similar level perches VFX as well as Motion Graphics which rely on one of your artistic skills - Cinematographic skills and imagination. Then come careers like Animation, Film Making, Game Design which rely on multiple talents like your authority over sketching, acting, direction, voice, sound, writing, storytelling and problem solving skills etc. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world and hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers. Indrani, wonderful that you are clear about basing your career on your aptitudes. Of course what you're suggesting yourself is writing and that too in english. So knowing nothing else about you and your creativity I can suggest that you can try to pursue understanding characters and how they react to their surroundings to improve the writer in you. Also, dabble in a few creative arts (which i am sure you already must be doing) like drawing, acting, etc. Some of the best directors have all three abilities. Also, graphic design and related careers do offer good potential for people who can put ideas into suitable words and then able to build a graphic (using pictures or drawing) around the idea. Such people can design posters and ads, and direct campaigns. Storytelling the best art to have in this era and it is an art extending from storywriting. So you stand a good chance. Any Graduation in life sciences,Environment Science, Chemistry, Agriculture, Physics, Biotechnology, B.E . Civil, Environmental engineering securing minimum 50 % engineering, Architecture, with minimum 50% marks ( 45 % in case of SC and ST candidates)
