Quantitative Aptitude:
Traditionally speaking, IIFT exams from the year 2008 to 2010 featured a number of questions from areas such as Modern Maths (Sets, probability, P&C) and Trigonometry. But in 2011 and 2012 exams, the questions in the exam were primarily from Algebra and Arithmetic. The major topics probed included Ratio and Proportion, TSD, Time &Work and Percentages, Simple equations, Sequences & Series and Inequalities. These were accompanied with questions from Geometry, Mensuration and P&C and Probability.
Kindly keep in mind that IIFT Till 2010 probed a number of questions on topics such as Functions, trigonometry, both heights and distances as well as trigonometric expressions (including double angles, half angles etc), Set Theory and Binomial Theorem. Make sure you revise the basics of these areas and do not miss out any question from this area.
Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning:
Till the year 2010, Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning formed one section in the exam. In 2011 and 2012, the exams threw up a surprise by segregating the two areas. What this means for you as a student? Well, you need to be proficient in both to a certain degree and cannot depend on one to clear the sectional cut-offs.
In IIFT 2011 and 2012, Logical reasoning questions were based on the areas Linear and Circular Arrangements, Complex Arrangements and Logical Conditions and Groupings. along with these questions, you get sitter questions from the area of Syllogisms. Make sure you solve these questions. You also have questions based on numerical series, the kinds featured in various CET examinations.
The Data Interpretation sets in the exam generally feature 4 to 5 questions each and are generally very calculation intensive. In order to maximize your scores and make sure you are able to complete all the sections in the exam, you are advised to select some of the sets rather than solving all the sets.
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension:
In the last two years, IIFT has featured a separate section for RCs and the four passages (1000-1500 words long) have featured 15-16 questions. The nature of these passages is factual and majority of the questions can be solved. But RCs in IIFT, because of their length, pose a time challenge and you should carefully select the ones you should solve. You do not want to end up short on time because you solved too many RCs.

Hello Abhijith,well i must tell you that diploma in game designing is more than enough for you to get you placed in any of the big companies,the reason being that what preferred is your work,your portfolio and the professional touch that you can give to your work.Suppose if you have a degree in animation and your work is not upto the mark then it is not going to help you to get placed.In this stream only the quality of work you can provide will be preferred and nothing else.So just go for it.If you are looking for institutions that can provide you with these type of courses then the following institutions would be the best ones for you:-

Yes you could do it for sure. Industrial Design Centre at IIT, Powai offers PG in creative segment of Animation & Design. Even NID offers the same. Admission to both programs are through entrance. If you are creative, do consider the option.
Gaming is a highly exciting, youthful career. It needs lot of passion, patience and Creativity to become Game Designer. Ensure that you possess it.
Also note that Gaming is still in its nascent stage in India. Till date there are very few appropriate programs available for Game Art Design. You could also prefer to pursue a Animation and Digital Media program which covers all the aspects desired to become an avid designer for game contents. Such course not only prepares you for Gaming but also for Animation Studios, Production Houses, Web, Ad agencies, Home entertainment through TV, e-learning etc.
You may check desired profile on top few Game Co's like Sony, Microsoft, Disney Indiagames, Zynga, Veda Games, Gameloft, Kreeda etc. Digital Media and Animation related programs are offered by lot of Government Colleges and Autonomous Institutes & Universities.
While choosing any institute ensure that you are taught by Experienced & proficient Mentors. Also ensure adequate infrastructure, industry interface & validate placement track record of alumni's. Learning Software alone won't help you. First acquire artistic skills on paper, then learn application software's for expressing skills in the Digital Medium.
