Well Both are Private Universities. But looking at the market prospect. Amity was set up way earlier than LPU and is better. Bcoz in my exp so far with LPU. the placements are very limited and students are still facing issues in getting themselves a job. So I suggest Amity is better.
Even on the terms of exposure, Amity has a good crowd, whereas LPU has typical punjab crowd which is itself a disaster!

Overall, in order to pursue undergraduate degree from universities in US, your son need to be 12th pass from recognized education board, with good academic record preferably 60%-70% in 12th, plus he need to take below mentioned test:
1. SAT.
2. TOEFL or IELTS.
