Never keep JEE as the only option.
Go for BITSAT.
You just need to secure a seat in a good college so that you don't have to drop a year later.
VIT University holds its exam (VITEEE) and counselling session prior to most other colleges. You can definitely go for it.
Even if you don't get admission in NIT's and IIITs then based on your mains rank, you can go for JAYPEE, Noida.
It is a great college and placements are also quite good.

The definition of best varies from person to person and is influenced by personal inclinations and one's strength for e.g. some people might want to go with the regular streams like CS, mechanical, electronics and some might go with not so common branches like robotics, petroleum, mining.
Opt for the engineering branch that you love the most and are most passionate about and analyze the future work conditions, scope and growth prospects before taking admission
You can also opt for psychometric test comprising of aptitude, personality and career interest to clear your confusion.
