It depends on individual's interest. If you are good in maths and analytics then finance, operations, financial engineering and data science are good options. If you have interest in customer interaction or people management than sales and marketing or HR is a better option. There are some other interesting disciplines like Agri-Business, Rural Management, Mass Communication. All the disciplines are good if one works hard in that field.

Now eligibility criteria for CAT is 65% in PG.
Thereafter, you will be eligible for this exam and even after exams you have to give GDPI.
It is not mandatory to pursue MBA after engineering. It all depends on your field of interest. Like if you want to go in cooperate jobs, you can opt this course and if you want to continue with this technical line you may go for M.Tech of MS.
Actually, B.Tech+engineering is in trend nowadays that's why people are running behind this.
