It is not compulsory to take coaching for CAT to be in IIMs. But people do opt for it for better guidance, concept clarity by expert faculties and may be to maintain a regularity in their efforts to crack CAT. Also when u clear CAT these institutes provide u classes on how to prepare for GD and PI.
I know people who didnt take coaching for CAT bt still were able to make it to good B-schools nd also those who took coaching bt couldnt make it to a good institution. Hi Crisanta it is really good and appreciable that you are clear about your career goal in 11th standard. This is the time for you develop your basics in Physics and Maths as these are the subjects which form core of space research. You should try to score around 90-95 % in 11th and 12th class as well. Also, please remove from your mind permanently that a student of state board school cannot clear IIT JEE. Anybody with hard work, planning and preparation can clear it.
