Aanchal, seems like the right time for a look in into design. Design is a field that is age old and has been evolving every year like science. Sometimes student Artists are too much enamoured by Fine Arts preventing them to look objectively at Design. They must read this http://bit.ly/SXc9GD. Again like science it pays to be at the cutting edge. For e.g. science students do better if they go for CS or IT since that are areas where development is taking place rapidly. Similarly in Design the cutting edge areas are UID/ UXD, 3D Printing, Immersive Technology, Augmented Reality, 3D Projection etc, besides of course Game Design & Animation. Of course at the top of the pile lies Concept Designing (usually reserved for writers and visionaries) - these people are required by Event Companies, Animation Studios, VFX Studios, & of course Game Studios. At this stage, you may want to understand the creative world and the careers it offers. Interiors, textile as well as Web Design rely on the same skills - your layout skills and color sense. Journalism also is at this level and relies on your language skills & knowledge of history and current affairs. A little higher perches Graphic Design, Fashion Design, jewellery design, Acting, & Fine Arts which rely on one of your artistic skills - sketching & imagination. At a similar level perches VFX as well as Motion Graphics which rely on one of your artistic skills - Cinematographic skills & imagination. Then come careers like Animation, Film Making, Game Design which rely on multiple talents like your authority over sketching, acting, direction, voice, sound, writing, storytelling and problem solving skills etc. Any extra skill can be used in this. So it turns out to be one of the most challenging as well as satisfying careers. Sure not recommended for the weak hearted. Do remember that digital design careers (e.g. web design, graphics, UI design, animation, vfx, multimedia) give better profits since they can be delivered anywhere in the world & hence may earn in dollars - resulting in better rewards for designers. You don't need to worry about whether you have a prior experience or not, although having one might add an advanage.
But nevertheless, regardless of whether you have any prior experience, the course teaches you about all the major basic and advanced management studies.
Event management is no rocket science. It can be comprehended easliy by a person who has the skill or proper reasoning. Logic and Understanding of the real world scenario.
The practical training programme's of the course help you guide in those aspects.
If you are a smart thinker and a smart worker you can surely give a competitive edge to even those who have a prior experience.

Why most students follow the conventional path of studying in India or in the west? Why Indian students are obsessed with the west? Is it the 200 years of colonial mindset? Most of them struggle to survive in the west and work for peanuts in India. So called 'average' and below 'average' students (although it is judged by marks to which I personally don't subscribe to) must look at countries like Bahrain and UAE for their destination for bachelor and masters degrees because the GCC region still the best for job opportunities, offering excellent tax free salaries, and most safe and secured high standard of living that one cannot expect in the west unless they are immensely gifted and possessing extra-ordinarily talented.

Syllabus is being revised yearly.XIME is very strict in terms of rules and regulations.You are not suposed to take leave.100% attendance is mandatory.For very exceptional case they will give leave.You are not allowed to leave hostel during night hours and discipline is very important here.Then workload is not heavy.even there are lot of stuff to do XIME provides relaxed environment in terms of out of classroom learning.i.e.,class will be conducted only at morning and almost all afternoon sessions are left free for students to utilize library,newspaper reading,assignment and any extra analysis/research based on our interest.So workload is not heavy.Feel free to ask more doubts
