Its good that you are planning to pursue a language as it will add value to your resume and also people with knowledge about an extra language are given more preference in tourism industry. German is a good language and is also easy to learn. I would suggest you to join a good foreign language institute rather than gong for a college, a regular three months course will be more than enough and rest you will learn once you start to communicate in German.

I would like to say that Media line itself is so challenging and film direction will be more of skill based. To start your career in film direction it is necessary for you to gain knowledge about the basic aspects of film making such as Direction, Cinematography,Camera angles, market demand as in what type of films or T.V. shows are in, etc. So i would suggest you join some course related to Film making and direction so that you gain the relevant knowledge. To start a career i would suggest you to join some good production house or an AD agency as a trainee to groom yourself or another good option for you can be to start shooting documentary films, do it as a free lancer or join any NGO and make a documentary for them and then you can apply to big production houses or if you have enough funds you can start your own production. But first i would suggest you to go for film making course.
