Yes, Mumbai University Thane Sub Campus follows a semester system for BMS-MBA programme. The University follows the NEP 2020 framework for its curriculum, which provides a credit-based semester system. The NEP 2020 framework provides a flexible curriculum. One of the best advantages of the NEP 2020 framework is that if a student dropped the course in middle of the year for personal or any other reasons, he/she will still get a certificate or diploma as per the eligibility.

This depends on the college a student wants to study in. Many colleges accept candidates based on class 12th results. They don't go through a formal entrance examination process.

But national universities like IITs and AIIMS offer admission only on the basis of entrance exams like JEE and NEET UG for UG programs.

No,  IITs rely strictly on JEE Mains and JEE Advanced scores for admission. SAT scores could be considered for NRIs (Non-Resident Indians) but not for domestic candidates. Also, JEE scores open doors to more colleges other than IITs,  which gives candidates a higher opportunity to pursue the degree of their liking.
