Should I take maths or not? I want to go for pharmacy after 12th.

If you want to do pharmacy then mathematics is not required, you can take PCB.

1. Bachelor Degree in Pharmacy requires a candidate to have cleared 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Maths (PCM) or Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB) or Physics, Chemistry, Maths &Biology as subjects. One must also pass with at least 50% marks in Pre University Course with biology/mathematics as one of the subjects, or complete a D.Pharma. (Diploma in Pharmacy). 2. There is an option of pursuing Direct Second Year Bachelor of Pharmacy (Lateral Entry) if one has: Should have aggregate of 50% marks in the First and Second year D. Pharmacy Examination with a pass in HSC or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany & Zoology) or Mathematics. Or Minimum qualifying marks in 10+2 examination as per Regulation (1a) above with pass in two year D. Pharmacy course. The criteria of minimum percentage of marks may differ from institute to institute. In some states it is also mandatory to give an additional pharmacy entrance examination in order to be eligible for the course.

Yes, you should can take maths a well also because in pharmacy, there is maths for 2 semesters. Opting maths right now in 12th will definitely help you at Bachelors level.

Take Maths. If by chance you aren't interested in pharmacy, then you will have other options also. Even though, if you all take Maths, it will help you, because you would have to study it again in B Pharmacy. Also, if you plan MBA after B.Pharmacy, maths will be of great help.

Dear Naresh, At LPU, the top 30 ranked pharmacy school in India, the B.Pharma. Is an undergraduate four years course (approved by PCI) which is a pre-requisite for registration to practice as a pharmacist. It imparts skills to work in industry, clinical set ups, drug control organizations, education and research sectors in pharmaceuticals Eligibility Criteria (Qualifying Exam) Pass with 60% aggregate marks in 10+2 (with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Maths) or equivalent. For a candidate, who has not studied English as a subject, the condition of English may be waived off provided the candidate in his qualifying exam has studied in English medium. So, as such, you don't need, mathematics, but I suggest you to take it as additional subject to consider for future use, by end of two years in 11th and 12th, your interests may change. If you are interested in Pharmacy stream, then maths is not needed, if you choose Maths, as your main subject, you are unable to take Pharmacy. So, choose the PCB in +1 to go to Pharma field.

No, you have to choose PCB in class12th. You can choose among: D-pharmacy (Diploma in pharmacy) B-pharmacy (Bachelor in pharmacy).

You don’t have to take maths. You can take biology and read chemistry.

If you want to take pharmacy after class 12th, then will have to take PCB as your subject. If you think you can manage Maths and bio together, then you can take Maths as well with bio. But, Since your goals are clear, it will be better not to divert your attention.
