MBA programs are offered by Universities, whereas PGDM programs are offered by institutes, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The MBA syllabus is hardly changed (once in five to seven years) and the subjects you study are outdated, which essentially means that the inputs are of no use. On the other hand, institutes offering the PGDM program, consistently revise their syllabus by being in touch with the industry. The placement scenario for MBA graduates is virtually non existent and does not guarantee you a job, as in, campus placements, whereas PGDM programs are widely accepted by the industry -

Here if we talk about the current 2015 pass out batch from ABBS the highest placement was of 6.5lakhs and average placement was of 3lakh to 3.5lakhs
