There is a misconception about college lecturer job, that B.Ed can land you a job. My answer is No.
You need more than Bachelor's degree. The best way to become college lecturer is appearing in the teaching eligibility tests specialized for lecturers/Professors.
Three exams that I would refer:
    CSIR NET
    UGC NET
    GATE
UGC and CSIR are for Post graduates while GATE is for Engineering Graduates.
Other State level Lectureship exams are:
    SLET
Apart from these, most of the private colleges recruit lecturers based on their merit and performance in interview held by the organization.
For being lecturer in Medical colleges, you need to appear in PhD in me

    Hi,
If you want to become a lecturer, you need to complete Bachelor's degree in a particular subject, then you need to do Masters in that subject only. After your Masters, you can appear for UGC National Entrance Test or SET (State Entrance Test). The minimum eligibility for UGC NET is that the candidate should have completed Masters from a recognized university with 55% marks aggregate.
Once you clear the NET or SET exam, you can apply in various universities across India for Assistant professor or Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).

One needs to do Master's degree and Ph.D. Also, the person has to clear the UGC Net. The candidate should be ranking high both in Master's degree and NET. This will enable the candidate to take the position of a lecturer and later on after gaining experience he or she can be upgraded to the post of an assistant professor then promoted to professor.
