What are the eligibility requirements for recruiting cabin crew by airlines?

You must be physically fit and class 12th pass from a recognized board. Age is 18 years and above. Minimum Height is 155 cms and maximum of 185 cms. BMI: Body Mass Index (Height & weight in proportion to each other) 18 to 22 for females and below 25 for males.

Cabin Crew Eligibility Criteria Education Qualification Most domestic airlines accept crew with 10 + 2 but if we are talking about international airlines they require graduation. Age Requirements For domestic airlines, its a minimum of 18 years, and for international is 21 year Height Requirements Most domestic airlines ask for a minimum of 5 3 but international airlines usually require an Arm's reach test. Weight Requirements Height and weight have to be in proportion. BMI is calculated and has to be maintained. I have spent years maintaining my weight and trust me it's hard.

Hello, Cabin Crew being one of the crucial element of air safety of the aircraft and in turn passengers, DGCA has put in some norms as minimum requirements that a candidate must meet to be recruited as cabin crew. These are actually not very grave or impossible to meet. Minimum age of 18 years is prescribed. Also, proper training in an authorized training institute is must. Then before actually starting to work as cabin crew in an aircraft they need to be certified for the type by DGCA, meaning authorized to work on that type of aircraft. Normally cabin crew is allowed to obtain certificate on type for two aircraft at a time. This is of vital importance. Since this means that person is capable of using and employing safety equipment on board aircraft in case of emergency.To conclude, it can be said that there are indeed eligibility conditions but these are not very stringent and many young boys and girls can meet this comfortably.

There are various cabin crew training institutes throughout the nation but as per my knowledge, they actually do not play any vital role in recruitment. Their certifications do not even create any influence on the recruiters. Airlines have their own standards which are based on the specific fleet on which they operate and the procedures that they follow in each drill. A brief description of Candidate profile for Freshers is as under: Age: Between 18 years and 27 years. Minimum Height: Men-170 cm and Women-157 cm. Weight: In proportion to height. Educational Qualification: HSC (10+2). Candidates who are appearing for their HSC examinations can also apply. Physical features: Pleasing personality, clear complexion (scars, pimples and blemishes not acceptable) and good eyesight. Marital Status: Unmarried. Language skills: Fluency in English and Hindi. Proficiency in a foreign language will be an added advantage. Interactive skills: Excellent communication and good interpersonal skills. Nationality: Indian citizens only. Passport: Must possess a valid Indian passport or should have applied for a passport. Mandatory Documentation: Must possess a Pan Card and Aadhaar Card Some airlines do charge a nominal amount as training fee which is non-refundable and to be paid by the candidate. Guidelines as per Directorate general of civil aviation are as followed: Minimum 18 years of age. 10+2 from a recognized board or university. Medically fit as per DGCA Norms. Remains medically fit to perform the duties of a cabin crew. Should have cleared all the training and examination as per company standards. Now apart from this airline do prefer smart and intelligent person, who have good communication skills, An English literate, pleasing personality, professional candidate, who are groomed well, no fancy tattoos, or so. BMI range within limit, for Male 26 and for female 23. Height - 165cm for female, For male - 170 cm. Any additional qualifications and certificates would add in to your selection process, Airlines do prefer staff who are positive, open to correction, having leadership skills, good team member, and how you handle pressure in different group activities.
