    Hi,
    Civil Engineers can find job in Government departments, private and public sector industries, research and teaching institutions etc. Job opportunities for civil engineers are expected to increase as fast as the average for all jobs, although the construction industry is vulnerable to fluctuations in the economy. Civil engineers will always be needed to maintain and repair existing facilities and structures and to construct new ones. After doing B.Tech, one can look for jobs in road projects, building work, consultancy firms, quality testing laboratories or housing societies.     Civil Engineering is a great branch but over the years, it's popularity has been decreasing. Even in reputed colleges like IITs and NITs Civil Engineering has much lower placements than other branches. But if you are genuinely interested in the branch you can surely get a job. Start by getting into one other premier institutions like IITs and NITs. Then study hard and maintain a great CGPA and you surely will get a good job.
    Career opportunities in Design field are in following sectors -
    1) Structural engineering - related to design of buildings (industrial and residential)
    2) Transportation engineering - related design of roads, bridges

    The civil engineering stream has a vast historic scenario and is probably the oldest branch. Civil engineering finds a very good scope and rich countries like Dubai, USA, China where they spent a lot on infrastructure. It is a true fact that there will be no end to construction till there is human life but there is something which makes civil different from other branches.     The scope of civil engineering is very good in India but you have to be patient enough for it because it will need time and practical experience for you to come up to a level for high grant.
    It is the branch if engineering which deals with the design, structure, and development of infrastructure, Construction, Urbanization, for development of structure that will help to boost the development of the nation.
