What are the major differences between B.Tech in civil engineering and B.Arch?

B.Tech in civil engineering is a 4-year course for 12th pass students and B.Arch is a 5-year course for 12th pass students.
B.Tech in civil engineering deals with planning, construction and maintenance of structures such as buildings, roads, stadiums, dams, etc. Aspirant learns about making and planning of structure for personal and social use. B.Arch deals with design, planning and construction of buildings and other physical structures.
Basically, both are doing the job of construction and planning but B.Arch pass outs think design in mind and design on paper and Civil engineers think how to make and make the design happen in reality....more -

+Structural Engineering-Deals with the mechanics of making the structure stand
+Transportation Engineering- Deals with optimization problems to find the best route and construction of roadways, railways etc.
+Geo-technical Engineering- Deals with construction of foundations, deep tunnels and other underground stuffs

Earlier, it was a notion that civil engineers and architectures are same but as the industries are diversified, the course structure also and hence, the difference between the B.Tech Civil Engineering and B.Arch are specified. We can say that B.Arch is the subset of civil engineering.
